About These Regulations

New Zealand’s Building (Building Product Information Requirements) Regulations 2022 ensure clear, consistent information is available to anyone selecting, specifying or installing building products. The goal is to help designers, builders and consumers:

  • Install them correctly
  • Make informed decisions about alternatives
  • Speed up building consent processing
  • Reduce defects and rework
  • Deliver safer, more durable buildings
